Beaches – one of the cheapest forms of entertainment. Parking at city beaches often has a charge, there are many free beaches you can pull up and use.
Wine – Is very cheap in Australia. Even your basic wines that are $2 a bottle (750mL) bottle are good. You can buy a decent wine like a Jacobs Creek for a few bucks, or a very good wine for very little.
National Parks – there are a few that charge small entry fees, but they are very few and far between.

BBQ – Sausages are cheap in Australia, you will find quality meats at reasonable prices. Meat is pretty cheap in Australia and the quality tends to be pretty good.
Lunch Specials – most pubs offer a cheap lunch special. Steak and chips + salad $10 or similar. It’s worth asking about specials, often they will be half the price of a regular meal off the menu.
Backpacking – You can still do this pretty cheap in Australia, particularly out of the major cities. But bring a tent, tents can often be pitched for free pretty much anywhere for one night.
There are some incredibly cheap flights available to country near Australia. Vietnam, Thailand, Bali, NZ, Hawaii. If you come to Australia it may be worth while adding a few other destinations.
